The only two certainties
In this world…

I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who coined the famous phrase:

“…in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”

I can’t really tell you much about the first, but I’m currently wrestling with the second.

Making sure I get my Tax Return done before January 31st.

Hey, it’s not that bad, I just wish I didn’t leave it to the last minute each year.

You can see a photo of my progress here:

It’s just me and Louis beating the paperwork into submission.

I drove Clarabella and Ollie up to Nottingham to spend the week with her parents so I can get stuck into it with no distractions.

I’ll be honest…

As much as I enjoy teaching Qigong I really dislike doing my accounts.

I remember 10 years ago being told 10 reasons why it’s great to be a Qigong teacher.

And here’re are the 6 I remember off the top of my head:

  1. You can be your own boss and earn for yourself.
  2. You can contribute something useful to society.
  3. You have independence.
  4. It’s an opportunity to improve yourself in the process.
  5. There’s a chance to travel.
  6. You get to spend more time with family.

Out of the 6 above I have to admit, contributing something useful to society and being independent are my two favourites.

You see I was never very good at working for other people.

I always felt like a round peg in a square hole.

In fact, out of the millions of jobs I’ve had, there was only 1 job I ever really enjoyed and that was part of the work experience required to get my ‘BTEC in Business and Finance’ qualification.

For two weeks I worked for an outfit called the “Buy from the blind guild.”

They were a charity operating out of York.

Each day, me, the funniest guy on the planet and the most gorgeous girl would load up a 7.5 tonne van with items blind people had made and then drive all over Yorkshire setting up stalls in small village halls and community centres.

It was an amazing experience.

I never had a job like it.

Anyway I digress.

The point I wanted to make was to let you know Edie and I are planning to put on the first PQTC in Maryland USA next year.

Edie as you probably already know is the awesomely talented PERFECT Qigong USA organiser.

And PQTC?

Well that currently stands for:

PERFECT Qigong Teaching Certificate.

Over 3 (or 4 days – we start planning the details next week) you, me and a small group of people – maximum of 10 – will work very closely and very intensely.

My objective is to teach you EVERYTHING you need to know to teach PERFECT Qigong.

Safely and confidently.

And get paid for doing it.

So if you’re looking for an opportunity to be your own boss and contribute something useful to society.

If the idea of what you can earn being directly linked to the amount of effort you put in appeals to you.

And you want to improve yourself in the process.

The PQTC could be just what you’re looking for.

It’ll be in August 2014

So why am I telling you now?

Because it won’t be cheap and I wanted to give you time to start saving.

I’ll be sure to give you more details once Edie and I have wrestled them out. But what I can tell you, is the PQTC will be unlike any other training out there. We’re going to be eating together, working together, practicing together and learning together.

Edie’s found us a wonderful location to put on this teacher training workshop.

I think you’re going to love it.

I suspect, going from my own experience of learning how to teach Qigong, that your most valuable lessons will come during our meal time discussions together.

But I’ll give you a heads up now.

You’re going to have to do your own Tax Returns!

As I mentioned, there will be a maximum of 10 spots on this first PQTC.

And there will be an application process.

Being able to afford the course fee’s won’t guarantee you a place.

Because I want to make sure you and I are on the same wavelength. That we’re going to get on with each other.

Why?

Because the PQTC won’t be the kind of training where you rock up, get a piece of paper and then go and fend for yourself out there in the cold, all alone.

Oh no.

You and I will continue to work closely.

I’m not just interested in making some money – though don’t get me wrong, it’s always nice as mo money = mo freedom in my book – no I’m more interested in your success as a PQ teacher.

Very interested because it’s all part of the plan.

And what is the plan?

I’ll only reveal that to PQTC qualified peeps.

If all of this sounds like music to your ears, then I recommend you shoot Edie an email at:

Edie Wallace PERFECT Qigong USA

And express your interest.

Though what with it being New Years eve and all that jazz, give her a few days to reply!

Right, best get back to it Grasshopper.

This Tax Return won’t complete itself.

Bye for now

Marcus

P.S. Let me wish you and your family a healthy and prosperous 2014.
