Have you made any tough decisions recently?
If you have, I feel for you.
It’s not easy taking a leap of faith when you don’t know what you’re leaping to.
You just know that you can’t take it anymore, somethings got to change and you’ve got to change it.
Change can be very frightening, let’s be honest about that.
Around 3 years ago I decided I had to leave the comfort, security and prestige of being the head teacher in the UK of an international Qigong and Kung Fu school.
And go it alone.
Looking back I can see there were many reasons for leaving, but the main one was an unresolvable difference about how to teach Qigong.
For them books and face-to-face teaching methods were acceptable, video was not.
And that faced me with a dilemma.
You see I’d recently published my book: “Shaolin Chi Kung – 18 Exercises to Help You Live a Longer, Healthier And Happier Life”.
It’s really good .
And it should be.
Because even though it’s got my name on the cover, I had a lot of highly qualified help:
- The head of the school reviewed the manuscript and made critical improvements to it.
- A selection of senior Qigong teachers from around the world reviewed it and made valuable suggestions.
- A visionary photographer brought it all into glorious life.
- An eagle eyed editor polished my ramblings into perfectly punctuated prose =P
I invested blood, sweat, tears and a small fortune to make certain the instructions were as simple, clear and comprehensive as they possibly could be.
Yet to my astonishment, people were still making huge mistakes whilst learning from this excellent book.
How do I know?
Because they were sending me YouTube videos and asking me to comment on their practice.
To cut a long story short…
I believe a picture paints 1000 words, it’s why I pioneered the Transition Shot Technology (TST) used in ‘Shaolin Chi Kung’ or SCK as I’m going to refer to it (thanks big Claire with the yellow hair!).
If that’s so, then a video running at 25 frames (or pictures) per second = 25,000 words…
Every single second!
Now can you see why it’s easier to learn something from a video than from pictures in a book?
Even a book as brilliant as SCK.
As good as SCK is, I always strive to give my students (face-to-face or online) my very best teaching. And I knew I was going to have to make use of video, but…
Because it was ‘forbidden‘ by the school, I had no choice but to leave.
That was a tough decision to make, from Hero to Zero in one resignation email.
You see, I knew there were 1000’s of deserving (and worthy) Qigong students who for whatever reason were unable to learn directly from me or even another great Qigong teacher.
I knew there were 10’s of thousands of people who could use Qigong to overcome pain and illness, increase their resistance to stress and live happier, healthier and longer lives – but who would never pick up a Qigong book or attend a Qigong course because they had no idea what it was.
If you’re reading this and:
You’re unable to learn directly from a great Qigong teacher.
You find it hard to learn from pictures in a book.
Then I created the 22 week Qigong Secrets Home Study Course (QSHSC) especially for you.
Over 8 hours of video spread over 22 weekly lessons you can work through at your own pace in the comfort of your own home.
If that sounds like something that could be of value to you, you’ll find full details here:
Enjoy your practice =)
