Second Son Carrying Mountains (Carry Mountains)

Continuing our look at the qigong exercises that make up the famous Shaolin 18 Lohan Hands qigong set, today we will look at Second Son Carrying Mountains (Carry Mountains.)

Second Son Carrying Mountains, Carry Mountains, 二 郎 擔 山, or ER LANG DAN SHAN. Out of all the qigong exercises in this set I consider this one to be the simplest. In fact I give it a 2 out of 10 on my Tricky ‘O’ Meter. But like all of the qigong exercises in this set, don’t let its appearing simplicity fool you.

Practiced correctly as qigong you can aspect the following benefits:

This exercise is good for the back, spine and the neck. It also stimulates four of the eight secondary meridians and as a result increases our longevity. I was personally amazed at the relief this pattern gave recently when I’d done something nasty to one of the ligaments in my back. Even at just a physical level.

The eight secondary meridians are also known as the eight wondrous meridians. They are wondrous because they can store or give energy when needed. They act like energy reservoirs and resemble vertical energy grids.

Avoid this pattern if you know you are diagnosed with hyper-tension.

Unlike some of the qigong exercises that make up this set. There isn’t really much more to say about it!

Bye for now
