Best Qigong Exercises for Diabetes

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, diabetes — like all illness — arises from Yin/Yang disharmony caused by blockages to harmonious qi flow through the meridians. Diabetes is closely linked to the pancreas, so exercises that benefit the pancreas and surrounding meridians are the most cost-effective place to start.

Recommended Exercises

Big Turn of the Cosmos

Massages the internal organs through qi flow and is directly beneficial for the pancreas.

Green Dragon Presenting Claws

Beneficial for the pancreas and the broader organ system — a strong all-round choice for those working with diabetes.

Big Windmill Hand

Also beneficial for the pancreas and supports the restoration of harmonious energy flow through the relevant meridians.

Plucking Stars Change Galaxies

A useful supplementary exercise — opens the side meridians and supports overall energy regulation.

Form vs Qigong: An Important Distinction

The benefits above are only available when these exercises are practiced as qigong — with a Qigong State of Mind (QSoM) and genuine energy flow. Practicing the physical movements alone will not produce the same results. The form is not the art of qigong.

Learning directly from a qualified instructor is strongly recommended. If that isn’t possible, your next best option is to learn qigong online. The exercises above are covered in full inside my online course.

Psst: Qigong requires virtually zero athleticism, can be practiced almost anywhere, and does not require any expensive supplements, pills, or exercise gizmos. Want me to teach you? Check out my online course →
